DDM-2001 Dust Detector
ddm2001

Birth of epoch-making system "DDM-2001" for effectively detecting and measuring dust such as SPM exhausted from factories

A new type of dust density measuring system has been born, featuring effective detection and measurement of a small quantity of dust without bothersome adjustments and maintenance. DDM-2001 (detector ; patent pending) has been developed on the basis of a number of tests under various environmental conditions and advanced dust collection technologies that support the solution of SPM problems. Since the Environment Agency announced the enhancement of dust regulations in July,1998, measures taken on dust collection and SPM have been demanded rapidly for the maintenance of global environment. Under the circumstances, a dust density instrument for monitoring dust exhausted into the air has become indispensable to factories with large capacity incineration facilities. But, the uniform speed absorption method (JIS) is not suited for continuous measurements so it leaves problems with the performance of electric dust collectors and bag filters. Dust measuring instruments which have so far been used, require much time in maintenance, and their glasses are easily contaminated, affecting the reliability of measured values. This new system "DDM-2001" adopts the light scattering method, realizing continuous measurements and maintenance-free operation. It has a superb detecting sensitivity and can be used for monitoring damage to the bag filter, while it is able to detect an accurate mass of dust (mg/Nm3) during continuous measurements through management of JIS correlation data.
